The Liberties is a centuries-old neighbourhood with a long and interesting history, and an area that’s been at the heart of enterprise, innovation and commerce right back to medieval times. Most famous for being the home of Guinness, it was also the centre of distilling in Dublin, with the largest concentration of producers in Ireland, including the world’s biggest whiskey distillery of its day owned by George Roe & Sons. Visit the modern day home of Roe & Co at the distillery, just a short walk from John’s Bar.
Stroll the streets of the Liberties and browse the eclectic array of shops, antique dealers, pubs and marvel at the impressive street art, a must see when in Dublin.
