A welcoming Dublin City Pub

on Thomas Street, Dublin 8.

Fáilte go dtí John’s Bar & Haberdashery

Walk in off Thomas St and suddenly it's another era. Salvaged seats, snugs, nooks, and a bar counter loaded with pints, old school sweets, and haberdashery bits and bobs. Things you haven't seen since your granny's kitchen drawer.

What's the Story

Thomas Street has a history of distilling, a history of tailoring and a history of being the original home of a pint of plain. At John’s Bar & Haberdashery, we’ve combined both in this cosy pub with a history that dates back to the 16th Century. John’s Bar & Haberdashery opens daily from 12pm serving up booze and burgers from our very own Wowburger.

Named after John Creeth, a haberdasher who ran his shop under lease at 61 Thomas St in the 1850s, the pub aims to preserve the history of the Liberties, and celebrate one of its oldest trades. Every crevice in the space is filled with haberdashery essentials, from needles and threads to thimbles and wool, all available for sale.
